REDWOOD CITY

A THRIVING, DIVERSE TOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PENINSULA

WELCOME TO REDWOOD CITY

Redwood City Real Estate features the perfect combination of community, location, and amenities. It’s conveniently located mid-peninsula, and the bullet stop on Caltrain makes it ideal for commuting to San Francisco. Downtown Redwood is also emerging as one of the peninsula’s go-to spots for restaurants and nightlife.

Redwood City is the oldest town on the peninsula and was a port city during the gold rush. It faded from prominence for a time, but the late 1900s saw a significant revitalization that continues today.

Luxury apartments are a huge draw in Redwood City, keeping residents close to the action of Downtown. There are a lot of gorgeous single-family homes as well, and the lower cost compared to many of the neighboring towns makes Redwood City real estate a go-to for first-time home buyers.

What to Love

  • An abundance of activities on the waterfront
  • Some of the best weather year-round
  • The thriving downtown restaurant scene

People & Lifestyle

Redwood City’s motto is “climate best by government test.” It sits below the fog belt, is on the water, and enjoys almost year-round sunshine. Redwood City is a thriving, community-centered town that has a more urban feel than the surrounding area.

Because of its diversity in housing, this is the perfect place for young professionals or families. Home to many of Stanford’s administrative offices and new clinic buildings, close to the tech giants in Palo Alto, and offering easy commutes to San Francisco and San Jose, Redwood City is an ideal location no matter where you work.

Dining, Shopping & Entertainment

Redwood City’s dining scene is one of the best on the peninsula, bringing residents of neighboring towns in for drinks and dinner. But those who live here know that it’s not just about the nightlife, because there’s plenty to be enjoyed throughout the entire day.

Though residents have easy access to the larger malls such as Stanford Shopping Center, there are lots of boutiques in town. Pickled is a women’s boutique that carries designer styles and gives you a complimentary cocktail as you shop. A great local spot to get all your outdoor gear is the family-owned Redwood Trading Post.

Downtown Redwood City has world-class dining of all types. Vesta is a buzzy indoor-outdoor space to eat wood-fired pizza and sip a beer. Milagros is a Mexican restaurant with amazing margaritas and a delightful brunch. Transition your day to night with Coffeebar, which transforms from an inviting cafe workspace to an intimate lounge.

Things to Do in Redwood City

As part of its revitalization efforts, the city hosts many incredible community events throughout the year and has created wonderful outdoor spaces, elevating Redwood City into a hot destination.

Celebrate the waterfront every October with boat rides, food trucks, and live music at Port Fest. Hometown Holidays sees the city festooned in lights and a parade that makes its way through downtown. Several other notable events are Zoppe Family Circus, Motor Movies at the Port, and the Parks and Arts Foundation’s Family Camp Out

In the heart of Downtown is Fox Theater, the premier live event space on the peninsula. Redwood City is also full of beautiful outdoor spaces, such as the Red Morton Community Park. Here you’ll find a Magical Bridges all-ability playground, tennis courts, and a swimming pool.
